here i go.

First blog post! I'm pretty excited about this... =)

I've never really considered doing this whole blog thing until recently. I was motivated to do this by three main things - no, four:
1. I was listening to a Generation Church sermon (which are all soooo good by the way - you should check 'em out: http://www.generationchurch.org/audio ) by Banning Liebscher I believe (crazy name, eh?) called Releasing the Dreamers and I don't remember a whole lot about it - perhaps I should be taking more notes - because we all know that you have to have a certain amount of notes to get into heaven (totally joking =P)... but anyways (as you can see, I'm easily distracted) ... ANYWAYS, he basically preached on the importance of having dreams for your life, big dreams, and trusting God that He will help you take the steps to fulfill them. One thing he said really stood out to me; he said that no matter what your dream is, don't wait until the future... start working on it NOW. For instance, if you want to be a writer, start a blog...and so on. To be honest, I really don't know what it is I want to do with my life quite yet, but I do enjoy writing, and I think I am somewhat gifted for it, so who knows? What Banning said about the blog really stuck out to me, so I just thought, why not start a blog, and see how it goes, right?
2. My friend Casey recently started a blog and mentioned it to me, so I checked it out and thought, hey, this looks like it could be a lot of fun! So me and a couple other friends started getting really excited about all starting our own and reading each other's. That was probably what really motivated me to get moving on this thing. read hers at: http://www.kclynnoliver.blogspot.com/
3. I think it's an important thing, especially during your growing up years, to keep a regular journal of your thoughts and feelings on life. I really haven't been consistent about doing this - I mean, I'm kind of on and off - I'll journal every few days for a couple months, and then not journal for months, and then journal maybe one day in a few months or something. So I had hoped that blogging and sharing my thoughts with my friends and basically the world - oh my gosh! old men stalkers back off! - would help motivate me to be consistent about keeping a journal.
4. OK, I'll admit, I am pretty inspired by all those people on TV shows and movies that keep a blog - I can just see them now, tapping away at their keyboards as the voice-over relays the words they're typing - calm, cool and reflective - influencing their corner of the world with their own unique opinions. In a way, those kind of people are a sort of indirect role model to me - someone who's not afraid to get what they think out there - to use the influential power that they have (hopefully I don't sound like Hitler or someone) to reach the people around them.

Alright, I'd better call it a night - I want to work on some collages I'm doing for my room and then hit the hay early.
Good night, blogging world! Get ready for meeeee!
